How to play Bluffer
Bluffer is a free bluffing trivia party game for 2 to 8 players, right in your browser. Every round is a true fact with a blank: an octopus has ___ hearts. Write a lie so good the others pick it, and find the truth among theirs.
A round
- A fact appears, with a blank. Nobody is expected to know the answer.
- Everyone writes a lie for the blank: short, believable, real-sounding. You have 45 seconds at the normal pace. Write the truth by mistake and the game quietly asks for a lie instead. Two people writing the same lie share it.
- The truth and all the lies are shown shuffled. Everyone picks what they think is true (30 seconds). You can't pick your own lie.
- The reveal: each lie turns over in turn, with who fell for it and who wrote it. The truth comes last.
Scoring
- Pick the truth: 3 points.
- Every player who picks your lie: 2 points to you.
- The last round counts ×2. The most points after 7 rounds wins (the host can pick 5, 7, 10).
English or Türkçe
A room plays in one language. The host picks it in the lobby, and Quick Play matches you with people playing in yours (your browser's language by default). The Turkish game isn't a translation: its 348 questions were written for a Turkish table, Turkey's own history, places, food and words among them, and its bots lie in Turkish.
Tips
- Lie like the fact is written. If the blank wants a number, give a plausible number; if it wants a city, give a real city.
- The truth is usually the surprising one. So make your lie a little surprising too.
- Watch who writes what style of lie. Friends have tells.
- Two lies that say the same thing get merged, and both writers score. Sometimes the obvious lie is the best lie.
Questions
- Is Bluffer free?
- Yes. It's free to play in your browser: no download, no signup, no ads.
- What kind of game is it?
- A bluffing trivia party game. Every round is a surprising true fact with a blank. Everyone writes a believable lie for the blank, then everyone picks what they think is the truth. You score for finding it, and for every player your lie fools.
- How many players?
- 2 to 8. Bots fill the table up to 5, so you can always play, and they're always labeled as bots.
- Can I play in Turkish?
- Yes. A room plays in English or Türkçe: the host picks in the lobby, and Quick Play matches you with people playing in your language. The Turkish game has its own 348 questions written for a Turkish table, not translations.
- Does it work on phones?
- Yes, on phones, tablets and computers. Typing a lie on a phone is easy: the box sits at the top so the keyboard never covers it.
- How do I play with friends?
- Open the game, tap With friends and share the table's link. Friends who open it sit down at your table, and the host picks when to start.
- How long is a match?
- 7 rounds by default (the host can pick 5, 7, 10). About a minute a round at the normal pace.
- What if I accidentally write the true answer?
- The game checks every lie against the truth (different spellings, number words, all that) and quietly asks you to write a lie instead. Nobody else sees it.
- Where do the questions come from?
- We write them ourselves: 377 in English and 348 in Turkish, all well-known, checkable facts.
- Do I need an account?
- No. Your name and level are saved on your device.
Ready? Bots are always waiting at a table.
